Vivid Haircolor Aftercare 〰️

Vivid Haircolor Aftercare Instructions:

To keep your fantasy haircolors rocking as long as possible, follow these tips and embrace the way these beautiful colors fade true to tone for up to 40 washes*

wait at least 2-4 days after your color service to shampoo. Shampoo no more than 1-2 times per week. It is ok to use conditioner more frequently, or switch to a co-wash.

it is always recommended to use cool or cold water, and a sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo and conditioner, or co-wash. Some brands i recommend are: Olaplex, Davines, Hair Story, Redken, Joico, Schwartzkopf. $5 bargain shampoo will not maintain your $500 haircolor.

Apply cleanser or shampoo to the scalp area, but let it run through the ends of your hair. Don’t scrub the ends. Always use conditioner to close the cuticle of your hair after cleansing. Use a styling cream or hair oil with uv protection.

try a color depositing cleansing conditioner to refresh faded vivid tones in between salon visits. I prefer Keracolor Clenditioner for this purpose ($22 at Ulta)

TURN THE HEAT DOWN. You dont even bake cookies at that temperature. Turn your heat tools wayyy down. The fastest way to fade that color is to use hot tools or hot water. Turn your hot tools to their lowest setting, and remember that COLD sets your style after the warm iron softens the bonds. Be gentle with your brushes.

AVOID: hot water, chlorine pools/hot tubs, ocean/lake water, mineral baths/hard water, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. These will all increase the fading of your vivid colors. If you have hard water, it is recommended to get a shower filter.

*Color longevity is based on many factors, including your hair’s overall health and porosity. Aftercare is paramount to keeping vivid color fresh. I do not guarantee color longevity for vivid haircolor services.
